Detailed Map - Cool Springs Creek

Cool Spring Creek is a medium-sized stream, approximatey 40 feet wide, and it flows at a moderate pace, with gentle riffles and glides. IT drains a rural area of woods, meadows, and farms. This stream has had many stream improvements constructed by this chapter of Trout Unlimited. Besides regular stockings from Fish Commission, the chapter also supplements this stream with fish from their hatchery.

The stream has a Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures Only section whic is 1.25 miles long from SR 2014 Bridge upstream to the abandoned railroad grade. Caddis hatches are the mainstay of the fly fishing on Cool Spring Creek, Olive Caddis, which hatch in May, are particularly important. Recently mayfly hatches including March Browns, Grey Foxes and Light Cahills have been improving.
