Notes from the EditorNick Loprire I for one have had enough holiday cheer. Excessive cheer can be validated by my morning ritual of standing on the scales. The food and drink are always special at this time of year and there is a sense, at least for me, that I should take advantage of it. My real disappointment was that Santa insisted on snow to make his rounds and essentially shut down the steelhead season. I dont think it will be long before the streams will be locked up until spring. Time to get working on those chores around the house that were delayed due to the fall pursuits. Remember, if all the winter projects get done there wont be any hurdles for the coming spring adventures. Im sure there is gobbler out there waiting for your "love call". Spring also means Banquet time. If you read the November gazette I mentioned a change for this years banquet. The location has changed to the Hickory VFW Post 6166. It is located on route 62 just east of the VFW golf course. My comments about input from our readers struck a nerve. I received three articles for publication and I want to thank Joe Piccirilli, Paul Williamson and Kim Sheward for their contributions. Im sure there are others that have a story to tell, so email (steelhd789@aol.com) or mail the stories (109 Southdale blvd, Cortland, OH 44410) to me. |
