When the water is clear do the following:

• Down size your tippet (5X)
   
• Down size the fly (16 will catch fish)
   
• Use more natural colored nymphs and pale egg patterns.
   
• Be stealthy and make longer casts.

If that doesn’t work go large and gaudy. Sometimes those fish just do the opposite from what you would expect. Good luck.
