In Attendance:

(Attending –  Ken Tarczy, Jim Noble, Jim Noble, Pete Anthony, Shawn Hedglin, Jim Williams, Bill Stevenson)  -  Excused – Ray Magensky, Chuck Rohrer, Dick Natoli, Bill Hasely  - WCO Jeff Giardina was not able to attend due to another meeting.
  1. Correspondence: Received info from Fish Commission on the 2009 Cooperative Trout Nursery Seminar. Seminar for the Northwest section will be held at Arlington Hotel, Oil City, PA, Saturday, March 14th. Pete Anthony, Ken Tarczy, & Bill Stevenson will represent the Munnell Run Trout Nursery.
     
  2. Financial Report: Pete reported that expenditures are on target with that of previous year. Expenditures to date: $555.00. A significant increase in the unit price of feed was offset by better feed management practices, and a decrease in mileage fro stocking & trips to Erie for feed purchases.
     
  3. Old Business: None
     
  4. New Business:
    1. Trout feeding schedule for the second half of the trout raising year was discussed & approved.
    2. Fingerlings request for next year will be 1,400 browns, 25 golden rainbows. Previous year’s request was 2,000 browns, 25 golden rainbows. Reason for decrease – Fall stocking has been discontinued until we are able to evaluate the ‘holdover rate’ via stream surveys.
    3. Stocking Schedule (Nursery)– A tentative schedule of ‘stocking numbers’ was prepared for the remainder of the 2008-2009 trout raising year. (Copy is attached.)
    4. Stocking Schedule (Fish Commission) – Coolspring DHALOA is scheduled for stocking: April 1 (Wed.), & April 30 (Thu). Previous years stocking was 1st week of March. The change will probably mean better weather conditions, and an opportunity to learn from fishermen the carry over results of the Commission & Nursery’s fall stocking program.
    5. Grants – Nothing has been received from the Fish Commission regarding the program.
