- Penn’s Creek Chapter Fly Fishing Event It will be held at the 4 Points Sheraton-Pittsburgh hotel on Sunday, March 4th from 9:30 AM until 2:30 PM. There will be 5 seminars, and various vendors selling their products. The charge for admission is $6.
- 2007 Neshannock Chapter Meeting Schedule Aaron said he would correct and send out the 2007 meeting list.
- Board Member Voting Existing Board member R. Rickert was re-elected for 3 years. Bill Fay nominated Reg McClelland as a new Board Member; it was seconded by R. Natoli, and passed.

A. Watershed Coordinator Jeff Kremis/Jim Mondok
- Spring Workday The date selected was Sunday, April 15th from Noon to 3:00 PM
- Volant Festival Jim Mondok reported that the Lawrence County Watershed Group would hold a Festival; he will check on the date for the event.
- Sportsman’s Night Out The event will be held on Saturday, February 31st at Laurel High School. Contacting Robert Miles at 724-658-9056 (extension 1126) for information on this annual event.
B. Nursery Pete Anthony
- Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission Trout Stocking Jeff Giardina, WCO for Mercer County, is back from military duty in Iraq and will resume his responsibilities. Jeff gave Pete a schedule for both “Pre-Season” and “In-Season fish stocking for 2007.
- Cooperative Nursery Meeting - Oil City, Pa Pete invited our Board Members to attend the meeting on March 31st. Pleas contact Pete if you plan to attend the meeting (724-662-2271).
- Munnell Run Fish Stocking Schedule As soon as the report is finished, Pete will send it out to all of the Board Members. The next stocking will be Cool Spring Creek on March 7th.
- 3CU Nursery / Bob Hetz Bob told Pete that there are problems with fish virus in Lake Erie this year, and, consequently the amount of Trout available for stocking will be decreased from last year’s numbers.
- Storage Box for Fish Stocking Trailer Dick Natoli presented the storage box plans at the last Nursery Committee meeting. All of the wood material, hardware, and stain have been purchased, and the box will be built as soon as we get some warm weather.
C. Reverse Raffle Tom and Carole Jochman
- Presentation A PowerPoint presentation is available which goes into detail about the organization of this event.
- Discussion Tom and Carole reviewed the details of the event and Jim Mondok made a motion to go through with it. R. Natoli seconded the motion, and it passed. It will be held in September on a date to announced.
- Gambling Permit Jim Mondok will check with the Mercer County Courthouse personnel to get a permit for gambling.
- Cost for tickets The ticket costs will be $100 per person, $200 per couple, and $130 for a couple with only one person entered in the gambling proceedings.
D. Banquet / Newsletter - Nick Loprire
- Banquet Prizes Nick asked for new ideas on prize selection. We did well on artwork last year, and that will be used again. We need to ask Bob Shuey to contact Ron Kissler at Frames Unlimited to see if he will donate again.
- Banquet Schedule Nick has had complaints about the length of the event and he will try to shorten it by 30 minutes this year.
- Banquet Fly Tying Glen Wisner and Wayne Sampson from the Toledo, Ohio area will be the guest tiers this year, and a class in “Intermediate Fly Tying” will be offered.

F. Youth Coordinator Dick Rickert
- Slippery Rock University Projects Paulette Johnson, Professor of Ecology at SRU asked for Dick Rickert’s e-mail address and phone number so her students could contact Dick about possible projects on area streams.
- Youth Fly Fishing Camp Dick needs nominations for this year’s camp.
- Wolf Creek Youth Fishing Derby It will be held on Saturday, April 21st with a rainout date of April 28th. Details will be available at the February board meeting.
- Sharon Fly Fishing Club Students at Sharon High School will use our five fly fishing outfits to practice with this coming spring. Jeff Kremis has volunteered to help teach them how to cast and fish with the fly rods.

- Website Photographs Nick asked for photographs for the website in the last Newsletter. Pete Anthony sent some nice photographs from the Wolf Creek Fishing Derby to John Siebert, but they never got posted. Aaron Monroe will contact John to see what happened.

- Guest Speaker Gary Beatty from the National Wild Turkey Federation was the guest speaker for the evening.
- Highlights There are close to 3 million turkey hunters and more than 7 million wild turkeys in the United States. Gary said that the federation boasts 545,000 Members, and has spent $230 Million on conservation efforts. He demonstrated many wild turkey “box calls”, and also reviewed Turkey Hunting Tips:
- A Turkey Hunter’s Code of Conduct
- Proper Use of Decoys
- Camouflage - Dress for Success
- Website Gary said to check out www.nwtf.org for information on their organization and more tips on hunter safety.
- Refreshments Coffee, Tea, Cookies and Nut Roll (made by Carole Jochman) were available to those attending the presentation.
