- PA Council of TU Fall Meeting Aaron talked about the meeting and asked if anyone was willing to attend. Nobody was able to attend.
- Boiling Springs Youth Fly Fishing Camp Aaron introduced Jeremy Kightlinger who gave us a review of his activities the week he spent at Fly Fishing Camp. Jeremy said he had a great time. If there was one thing he would change, he said there should be more time for fishing. Based on the following schedule, his activities were as follows:
- 4:30 AM Wakeup Call
- 5:00 7:00 AM Fishing
- 7:00 8:00 AM Breakfast
- 8:00 12 Noon Attended Conservation Class
- 12 Noon 1:00 Lunch
- 1:00 5:00 PM Project Work on the stream / Fly Tying
- 5:00 6:00 PM Dinner
- 6:00 10:00 PM Conservation Class
- 11:00 PM Lights Out

- Budget Report Jeff reviewed the budget Report ending August 31st 2006
- Actual spending versus budgeted We are overspending compared to the proposed budget. If we keep up with this “deficit spending”, our bank accounts will eventually run dry. We discussed several ways to cut spending in the future, in order to maintain a suitable amount of operating cash in the bank.

A. Watershed Coordinator Jeff Kremis/Jim Mondok
- Wolf Creek Rock Jeff reported that the rocks have been placed in the stream. Three are in front of the handicapped fishing deck, and three are approximately even with the end of the deck.
- Signs for Cool Spring Creek Walking Trails Aaron Monroe will have the signs made and show them to the landowners for their approval prior to installing them.
- Fall Workday Saturday, October 7th - Activities include work on stream deflectors and trail maintenance.
B. Nursery Pete Anthony
- 3CU Nursery Trout Pete said the Bob Hetz gave him a figure of $1.00 per Trout to use as an estimating number if we want to donate money back to 3CU’s Nursery.
- Fish Commission Inspection They will inspect the nursery on September 26th
- Slippery Rock Creek Trout Joe Morris, our Lawrence County WCO, has requested 200 Trout be stocked in a remote area of the creek.
- Little Sandy Stocking Monday, October 9th is the date for the trout stocking. The Oil Creek Chapter is so glad to have our fish, they are giving Pete Anthony a gasoline credit card to cover transportation costs.
- Float Box Maintenance Ken Tarczy said that the boxes are due for a coat of protective varnish, and that he and another nursery volunteer would do that job.
C. Cabin Fever - Dick Natoli
- Events to replace Cabin Fever Tom Jochman suggested we should go back to having two to four membership meetings with volunteer speakers, and snacks to save money. Nick Loprire agreed and suggested we have the membership meetings in January, February, and early March as a “buildup” to the March Banquet.
D. Banquet / Newsletter - Nick Loprire
- Expenses and Profits Carol Jochman asked what the various activities at the banquet brought in, and Nick explained the general expectations for the major events. Carol said she will try to bring in some new ideas for the board to consider for next year’s banquet.

- Chapter Donations We discussed various ways to decrease our donations, and still contribute to worthwhile organizations in a meaningful way.

- Slippery Rock University Paulette Johnson, a Professor of Ecology at the University, contacted Richard Natoli about participating in some on stream ecology projects. She is interested in Macroinvertebrate Studies, and planting trees along the stream banks. Her students would be available from January until May 15th. The board members are definitely interested in working with her, and suggested our Youth Coordinator Dick Rickert contact her to plan some activities for 2007.
- MCCD Farmer / Director Nominations The Mercer County Conservation District is again soliciting nominations for Farmer/Director. Jim Mondok said that Elliot Lingel’s term is about to expire. He asked the board to consider Elliot and others.
- Board Member Resignation Tom Jochman reported that Bud Hanselman has officially resigned from our Neshannock Chapter Board of Directors. Bud cited travel distance as the main reason for his resignation. He recently moved to East Liverpool, Ohio.
