A. Watershed Coordinator Jeff Kremis/Jim Mondok
- Wolf Creek Rock Roger Hoffman will supply 3 or 4 large rocks from his farm because it will be easier for him to transport them since his equipment is at the same place. Barry Spicher, Maintenance Mgr. For the Borough of Grove City said he might be able to use an excavator from a nearby jobsite to place the rock into the stream.
- 4-Wheeler Damage to Cool Spring Trails Aaron Monroe talked with members of the Beagle Club about putting up signs, and they are OK with it. Jeff made a proposal for the message on the signs, and Aaron will print some samples to look over at our August 6th Board Meeting / Picnic.
- Suggestion to fix existing rut Jim Mondok suggested we excavate the rut near the “Crossover Hole” and place filter cloth and 4 inch diameter rock in it. The filter cloth will keep the rock from sinking into the mud on the spring streambed and provide a stable surface for the 4-Wheelers to cross over. A width of eight feet would be sufficient. Jim will obtain cost estimates for the materials needed.
- Fall Workday It is still scheduled for Saturday, October 7; activities include work on the Glory Hole stream deflector, and a Macro-Invertebrate Study.
B. Nursery Pete Anthony
- Munnell Run Nursery Trout 2000 Brown Trout and 25 Golden Rainbows were received on June 26th for the 2005 / 2006 period.
- Nursery Windows Ken said the approximate cost for 3 new windows was $1100; the Fish Commission turned down the grant request for the windows, but accepted the grant request for a backup aerator. The aerator cost is $490 and the grant will pay for half. Jim Mondok said he may be able to secure a grant for 75% of the cost of the new windows through a MCCD grant, and he will look into it further.
- Fish Stocking Plans Ken reviewed the dates for stocking fish this year.
- Weed Trimmer The weed trimmer needs to be replaced and Tom Jochman’s estimates for repair or replacement were reviewed.
- Jeff Kremis made a motion to replace it at a cost of $139.00. Dick Rickert seconded it and the motion passed.
