In Attendance:

1. Opening Comments – Aaron Monroe
  • Youth Fly Fishing Camp - Aaron gave the information on the camp to Dick Rickert. Dick will check with the area schools to see if there is interest in attending.
2. Minutes from Last Meeting – Dick Natoli
  • Reading of the minutes was dispensed with since they were mailed previously mailed to all of the board members; they were OK as published.
3. Treasurer’s Report – Jeff Kremis
  • Monthly Budget Report – Jeff reviewed the budget report ending December 2004.
4. Committee Reports:
A. Watershed Coordinator – Jeff Kremis/Jim Mondok
  • Letter from the Department of the Army – Jeff received a letter concerning the stream work done on Coolspring Creek in August. Jeff will fill out the questionnaire, and have Doug Pears sign it as the “contractor” who did the stream bed work.

B. Nursery – Pete Anthony

  • Stocking Dates for 2005 - Pete will send a list of proposed fish stocking dates and streams to the Pa Fish and Boat Commission.
  • December 31st Fish Stocking – The Nursery Raceway was getting crowded with the fish growing larger, and the good weather provided an opportunity, so 200 Rainbows were put in Neshannock Creek.

C. Cabin Fever - Dick Natoli

  • Speakers – It was decided to hire Don Matthews to speak about Steelhead Fishing in the Tributaries of Lake Erie. Trapper John will speak about bugs, pests, etc.
  • Gift Certificate Raffle – Ask Bud Hanselman and Bob Shuey (Natoli to e-mail)
  • Stream maps - Left over from last years banquet (Jochman and Loprire have some)
  • Accommodations – Both sides of the hall are reserved.
  • Rod Raffle – Tickets will be sold at $1 each / 6 for $5 / 13 for $10 and 30 for $20
  • Demonstration Tables:
    1. Fly Tying and “Fly Line-to-Leader” attachment technique – Nick Loprire
    2. Knot Tying – Larry Wynkoop
    3. Antique Flies – Pete Anthony
    4. Unusual Photographs / Stories – Open to all
  • Voting / Board Members – Both Nick Loprire and Bill Fay will be re-elected to another term as Board Members. If anyone knows of a new person who would like to serve as a board member, please let us know.
  • Invite former Board Member Reg McClelland to Cabin Fever – Dick Rickert to call Reg

D. Banquet / Newsletter - Nick Loprire

  • Banquet events and prizes were discussed:
    1. Two shopping spree prizes - $400 / $100 from Neshannock and same from Books & Hooks? – Ask Bob and Bud
    2. Bean Bag Toss game– Need to decide on prizes
    3. Dice game – Win Bucket Raffle tickets, need to figure the odds (Loprire and Monroe to discuss with Bob Caven at Packard Electric), and we need a sign explaining the winning combinations
    4. Two gun prizes; Binelli shotgun and Muzzle loader - One in Bucket Raffle and one in the Card Raffle
    5. Split Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod - Major prize
    6. Peak & Peak Golf Package - Dick Rickert secured an 18 hole golf package for two with overnight accommodations, breakfast, and dinner – Possible Verbal Auction or Silent Auction item
    7. Five Night Fly Fishing Trip to Montana – Start Bidding at $1000
    8. Cabelas Shopping Spree – Tom Jochman will check with their Wheeling, West Virginia store to ask for information
    9. Table Prizes – Possible to win tickets for the Bucket Raffle or a $20 voucher for tickets of their choice
    10. Gift for everyone attending – We selected a water bottle with the TU logo printed on it; it will be handed out as the patrons leave the banquet
    11. Steelhead Trip – Aaron to check with Don Matthews
    12. Donation from Shenango River Watchers – Jennifer Barborack will send us a donation we can use in the Silent Auction (Jeff Kremis)
