  • Hanselman news! – Congratulations to Bud for being the Grandfather of sextuplets! Bud and Nancy’s son and daughter-in-law are the proud parents; all six babies are doing well so far.
  • Board member change posting on TU web site – Aaron will send an e-mail to John Siebert requesting he revise the Board Members names on our website. We have two new Board Members, Bud Hanselman and Dick Rickert, who are replacing two that have recently resigned (Reg McClelland and Jim Rafferty). Our Thanks and Best Wishes to Reg and Jim for all the good work they have done for the Neshannock Chapter.
2. Minutes from Last Meeting – Dick Natoli
  • Revised to correct the date for the Neshannock Creek meeting (3/7/04 was 3/6/04) and Tabled in the interest of saving time.
3. Treasurer’s Report – Jeff Kremis
  • Jeff reviewed the expenses and income for the month ending February 29, 2004.
  • Jeff made a motion to set aside $1500 for the Neshannock Creek Work to be done on April 3rd. The Motion was seconded by Aaron Monroe, and was passed.
4. Committee Reports:
A. Watershed Coordinator – Jeff Kremis
  • Neshannock Walk – March 7th - Jeff and Aaron met with Bob Shuey of the Neshannock Creek fly shop to review repairs needed on the parking lot next to Covered Bridge Road. Jeff made a sketch and full description of the repairs needed to fix the badly dilapidated areas of the lot and, also, an 18-foot long x 15-inch diameter culvert nearby needs to be replaced. Aaron will talk with Mike Barney about getting a Front End Loader to the site to dig up and level the parking lot in preparation for laying down Geo-Textile Fabric, and covering it with rock.
  • April 3rd workday – Due to the extensive amount of work needed on the Neshannock Creek Parking lot, the entire day will be used for those repairs.

  • No report available because Pete was on vacation. Pete’s wish list - tabled

C. Cabin Fever / Banquet / Newsletter - Nick Loprire

  • Cabin Fever Symposium – 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM Saturday, January 31st
    • Pa Pheasant Hunt Prize – Check with Joe Segula to see what the cost would be for Joe to Guide a hunt for pheasants (Fay)Report was Tabled in the interest of saving time

  • March Banquet – 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM Saturday, March 20th
    • Prizes – Nick reviewed a three-page list of the prizes available for the banquet and asked the members to follow up on any others still outstanding.
    • Tickets – There are 124 tickets on his list so far, and this is similar to what we had last year at this time. There will probably be 180 to 190 people at the banquet again this year.
    • Agenda and Banquet Jobs – Nick reviewed the Banquet Agenda for the day, and also the various jobs that the Board Members are assigned to do.

  • Newsletter – The Newsletter should be sent out in early April so that the Chapter Members are aware of the dates for the OIL CREEK OUTING (May 8th) and the POTTER CREEK OUTING (June 5th and 6th).

  • VFW Liability Insurance Form - Nick will request a copy of the VFW’s Liability Insurance form for our records. Since they are serving the liquor, they are responsible for any liability should someone become injured at or after our Banquet.

D. Membership – Tom Jochman

  • Gander Mountain show - Tom told us about the upcoming show at the Niles store located at Route 46 near the Super K-Mart. We will have a Trout Unlimited table at the store on Saturday and Sunday, March 27th and 28th. Board members “manning” the table will be Loprire, Rickert and Natoli on Saturday, and Jochman and Kremis on Sunday.
  • Ohio TU Chapter 668 – Tom needed a resolution passed from the board so he could petition the Ohio Council of Trout Unlimited to combine Chapter 668 with Neshannock Chapter. Chapter 668 is currently “invisible” because there is no Chapter setup and no Board Members. A motion was submitted by Jeff, seconded by Bud, and the motion passed.

  • Mailbox move to Mercer – Completed by Jeff Kremis
  • Rivers Conservation & Fly Fishing Youth Camp – Nick will contact Doug Rohrer to see if Adam Listopad from Hubbard, Ohio is interested. Also, Tom Jochman has a youth that is interested.
